What is Wardrobe Asst.?

An app that assists people updating their wardrobe. Creating a place where you can upgrade your wardrobe with the touch of a button.


The Challenge?

Creating a platform where users can access their wardrobe/vision boards for the perfect purchase. Helping shoppers stay up-to-date with the latest trends, gifts, and pairings.

The Solution?

Creating a mobile app that can track your personal inventory linking you to local or online stores that have the perfect match for purchases.


RESEARCH

Target audience:

  • Working professionals living in cities, age 25-35yrs.
  • The single shopper who is keeping up with the current trends.

Business Analysis

Stakeholders communicated the business goals for the company. I was able to target the specific in-store shopper. I focused on techniques such as quick sketching the user journey to gather a clear vision of a shopper’s process.

Surveying

Surveyed women from different demographics such as working moms, business professionals, and college students. The results provided me with a specific focus group of women 24-35 within a specific salary.

User Interviews

Interviewed 10 women who would be great candidates for the app, which resulted in the information to create our user persona.

Results:

  • 24-33 yrs old (female)
  • Salary range $65,000-75,000
  • The working professional with trendy outfits.
  • Searches for pairing items in her closet by color or article
  • Self-treat- new clothing for current fashion trends or events
  • Finds looks through forums, vision boards(Pinterest), and Instagram

DEFINE

User testing:

A/B Testing was applied randomly, showing each version to an equal number of users revealing the version that accomplished specific scenario goals. Due to time constraint, we found rapid prototyping to be the best option to gathering results.  See recorded user-testing session below.

What worked:

  • Identifying personal wardrobe
  • Scrolling gallery
  • Camera’s duel function (store vs. personal)
  • Saved items function

What could be improved:

  • Clarity in returning to the previous screen
  • Clarity on shop function
  • Location for shop button
  • The layout of saved options
